Electrical Repair work / IT Re-Conditioning:
Most NDT equipment relys on some sort of external Windows computer to visualize inspection results or handle test settings. Therefor the NDT equipment often outlives the computer components and the fast pace of technology development.
After 15, 20, 30 years in operation (which would typically be expected for a test instrument), most NDT instruments are now no longer compatible e.g. with the current Windows versions or broken internal PCB boards are no longer available.
